PreK 4

Hello winter weather!  January is a blustery and busy month.  Pre-K4 will learn about snow.  What is snow?  Snowflakes have 6 sides, and no two are alike.  Making play doh snowman will be fun.  What does snow feel like?  Gathering snow from outside, the children will use their senses to investigate.

As we close out the Christmas season, we will sing the 12 Days of Christmas. Counting all the items helps to build our number sense too.

Penguins live in the arctic. What other animals live in cold climates? Hibernation is another great science area that we will explore. What animals hibernate? Reading Bear Snores On will be a fun way to learn more about hibernation. The children will also have an opportunity to make their own cave for their “bear” to hibernate in.

Our letters this month will be Uu, Dd, Pp, Bb, and Rr. Digging for dinosaurs in our sand table will be an adventure. Hooray for January!
